The U.S. Open's first anchor site
In 2020 the USGA named Pinehurst Resort & Country Club its first U.S. Open anchor site. Pinehurst No. 2 hosted in 2024 and is scheduled to host again in 2029, 2035, 2041 and 2047 — a return roughly every five to six years. Each championship brings worldwide attention and visitors to the area.

USGA Golf House & the World Golf Hall of Fame
The USGA built its second home right in the village of Pinehurst. The campus now holds the World Golf Hall of Fame too — a new reason golf fans visit, and a new source of jobs and activity in Moore County.

- Membership is by invitation. Buying a home with an existing transferable membership is the most direct path in.
- New owners of a property with a transferable membership may qualify for a reduced initiation fee — ask before you write an offer.
- Without a transferable property, a current member can sponsor you, or the Club's membership office can help arrange a tour and sponsor.
